Privacy policy
Last updated 5 November 2026
This policy explains what Gifter Studios Inc. (“we” or “us”) collects when you use Pixie Studio or join its waitlist, and what we do with it. It goes with our Terms of Service.
The short version
- We collect what we need to run your account, make what you ask for, take payments and keep Pixie Studio safe.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
- We may use what you make and upload, including things you've deleted, to train AI models, ours included.
- Your creations are private unless you publish a Recipe. You can ask to see, fix or delete your data at any time: reply to any email we've sent you.
What we collect
Account
Your email address (you sign in with a code we email you), the name and handle you choose, and when you confirmed you're 18 or older and that you have the right to upload what you upload.
What you make and upload
Your prompts and settings, the files you upload (images, video and audio), what the AI models make for you, your workflows and storyboards, and the Recipes you publish. If a photo, video or recording shows or sounds like a person, that's part of it too.
Voice notes and captions
If you talk to Pixie instead of typing, or ask Cut for auto-captions, we send the recording (or your edit's sound) to ElevenLabs to turn it into text, then keep only the text you see. We don't store the recording.
Sparks and payments
Your Sparks balance and history, your plan, and records of your purchases, refunds and disputes. Payments go through Stripe: we get your Stripe customer ID and what you bought, but never your full card number.
Phone number (only if you verify one)
Free daily Sparks need a verified phone, so one person can't collect them with many accounts. Twilio texts you a code. We keep only a one-way fingerprint of your number, which lets us see that a number already verifies another account without storing the number, and its last two digits so you can tell which one you used. We never text you anything else.
Cast (only if you save characters)
The characters you save in Cast: a name, how they look, the pictures you picked from your Library and a voice. If a Cast member is a real person, we keep your answer about whose face it is (you, or someone who agreed) and when you gave it. Their pictures are used only when you put them in a render. A real person's Cast entry is deleted when you delete it (you can delete their pictures from your Library at the same time) and automatically 3 years after it was last used.
Pixie in ChatGPT (only if you use it)
When you plan a video with Pixie inside ChatGPT, we receive only what ChatGPT sends to our tool: your idea and the plan (title, shots, look, shape). We don't see the rest of your ChatGPT conversation. The plan waits for up to 7 days for you to open it in Pixie, and is deleted if you don't.
Reports
Reports you send about Recipes (the reason and any note), reports others send about yours, and our decisions about them.
Waitlist
Your email address, your invite code, the code of whoever invited you (if anyone), whether you asked to be a Founding Creator, the campaign tag in the link you used (such as utm_source), and a one-way hash of your IP address that we use only to stop spam sign-ups. We don't store your IP address itself.
Technical data
Like most websites, our hosting and sign-in providers log requests (including IP address, browser and time) to run and protect the service. We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you to other sites: it records the page (without anything after "?" in its address), the site that sent you, and your browser, device type and country. When something breaks, an error report goes to Sentry so we can fix it: what failed, where in our code, the page and your browser. Error reports never include your files, prompts, cookies or account details. We don't use advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To make what you ask for: we send your prompts and inputs to the AI model that does the work (see the next section).
- To charge for plans and Sparks, give Sparks, handle refunds and disputes, and pay Recipe royalties.
- To keep Pixie Studio safe: screening what goes public, reviewing reports, preventing fraud and abuse such as duplicate accounts, and meeting legal duties, such as reporting child sexual abuse material to NCMEC.
- To send emails you need: sign-in codes, receipts, your beta invite and important changes. No marketing emails without your OK.
- To fix problems and improve Pixie Studio.
- To train, test and improve AI models, including our own, with what you make and upload (see AI models and your content).
If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, our legal bases are: running our contract with you (your account, what you make, payments), our legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, improving the service and training AI models), legal obligations (tax, law enforcement requests, child-safety reporting) and your consent where we ask for it.
AI models and your content
Pixie Studio runs on AI models made by other companies. When you make something, we send your prompt and any inputs (such as an uploaded photo) to the provider that runs the model to make your result, and we store what comes back in your Library. Pixie, your director, runs on a language model in the same way.
We may train AI models on your content. Your prompts, what you upload, what the models make for you and your Recipes, including ones you've deleted, may be used to train, test and improve AI models, ours included. If you'd rather we didn't, reply to any email we've sent you and we'll leave your content out of future training. Each provider handles what we send under its own terms and privacy policy, which may let it keep inputs for a limited time, for example to prevent abuse.
We don't create face templates or other biometric identifiers to recognize people. Some models look at a face in a photo you upload in order to make your result.
Before a Recipe goes on Trends, we send its pictures and text to Microsoft's Azure AI Content Safety, which checks them against our Content policy.
What other people can see
Everything you make is private to your account until you publish a Recipe. Then its title, description, steps, the examples you chose, any input files you fixed in place and your handle become public on Trends. Unpublishing or deleting a Recipe takes it down, but remixes people already made stay theirs.
We never show who reported a Recipe to its creator.
How long we keep it
- Your account
- While you have an account. When you ask us to delete it, we delete your account and what's in it within 30 days.
- Things you make and upload
- Until your account is deleted. Deleting a file from your Library, or deleting a Recipe, hides it from you and from every public page right away, but we may keep the stored copy to look into reports about it and to train AI models. When your account is deleted, we delete those copies within 30 days; AI models already trained with them stay as they are.
- Purchases and Sparks
- As long as we need them for accounting, tax, refunds and disputes, even after your account is deleted. Stripe keeps its own payment records.
- Reports and moderation decisions
- As long as we need them to keep people safe and to meet legal duties, such as reports to NCMEC.
- Waitlist entry
- Until you get your invite, or until you ask us to remove it.
- Server logs
- A short time, set by our hosting providers.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change most of your information in the studio, delete things from your Library, and unpublish or delete your Recipes. For anything else, reply to any email we've sent you from the address you sign in with. You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we have about you, and give you a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it, or your whole account (we keep only what the law requires, as described above);
- stop using it for something you object to, such as training AI models.
We answer within 30 days and may need to confirm it's really you. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. If you're in the EEA or the UK and you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Connections to Pixie Studio are encrypted, your files are private unless you publish them, and our database only lets each person reach their own data. No system is perfectly secure, so if something goes wrong that affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Age
Pixie Studio is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 has an account, reply to any email we've sent you and we'll delete it.
Where your data is processed
Gifter Studios Inc. is based in the United States, and our providers process data in the US and other countries, including where an AI model runs. When we transfer personal information out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as Pixie Studio grows. If a change matters, we'll tell you before it takes effect, by email or in the studio. The date at the top shows the current version.
